In addition to studying organizations within this cause, we've analyzed a few key questions independently.

• The Cost of Living page looks at a study by Diana Pearce on cost of living in New York City, and what level of income can reasonably be considered "self-supporting."
• Requirements for public assistance summarizes the relationship between receiving public assistance and income. This is important because many of our applicants give information on the former, but not the latter, for their clients.
• Analysis of 2000 census attempts to use census data for a rough "comparison group" for the clients served by two of our applicants.
